Editorial Policy
How Destiny Map researches, verifies and corrects its Islamic content. Last updated: September 2026.
1. Our responsibility
Religious content should be handled with the utmost care. Our single most important editorial rule is: we do not fabricate. We never invent Qur'anic verses, hadith, dua sources, scholarly opinions or religious rulings. Every article and dua that cites a source displays that source, and where we cannot verify something we say so.
2. How content is researched
Articles are written from primary, well-known sources: the Qur'an (by surah and ayah) and widely circulated hadith collections such as Sahih al-Bukhari and Sahih Muslim, with references given by collection and number where practical. Where a standard reference exists, it is cited. We prefer the classical sources over secondary commentary when a verse or narration is presented as fact.
3. How sources are selected
We use sources that are (a) well-known and widely accepted in the Muslim tradition, (b) attributed and verifiable, and (c) where possible, cross-checked against at least one other reference. When a narration appears in multiple collections with slight variations, we say so rather than silently picking one wording.
4. Scholarly difference
Where scholars differ — on a date, a narration's authenticity, a ruling, or the interpretation of a Name — the platform communicates the difference plainly and does not present one view as settled fact. We do not issue rulings. For complex or consequential questions, we advise consulting a qualified scholar.
5. Review and verification status
Every Knowledge Hub article carries a status badge. 'Reviewed' content has been cross-checked against its cited sources. 'Needs review' content is pending such a check. 'Draft' content is a working draft not yet suitable as a primary reference. These badges reflect the editorial state of each piece and are visible on the article itself.
6. Calculated dates
Hijri dates and occasions are calculated estimates (Umm al-Qura or tabular calendars) and are labelled as such. Official lunar months depend on confirmed moon sighting. We never present a calculated date as an official announcement.
7. Corrections
If you spot an error — a misattributed verse, an imprecise translation, a wrong reference, or a missing scholarly-difference note — please contact us. Errors in religious content are treated with priority. We review reported errors, correct what is confirmed, and acknowledge corrections transparently. Please include the page URL and, if possible, the correct source reference.
8. Placeholder and reviewer content
Some records in the admin panel exist to demonstrate the review workflow; content marked 'draft' or 'needs review' should not be relied upon as authoritative. The editorial standard described here applies to all published content.
