Dua upon waking
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي أَحْيَانَا بَعْدَ مَا أَمَاتَنَا وَإِلَيْهِ ٱلنُّشُورُ
Praise be to Allah who gave us life after He caused us to die, and to Him is the resurrection.
Morning dhikr
أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَ ٱلْمُلْكُ لِلَّهِ، وَٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ، لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ
We have entered the morning and the dominion belongs to Allah; praise be to Allah; there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner.
ٱللَّهُمَّ بِكَ أَصْبَحْنَا وَبِكَ أَمْسَيْنَا وَبِكَ نَحْيَا وَبِكَ نَمُوتُ وَإِلَيْكَ ٱلنُّشُورُ
O Allah, with You we enter the morning and with You we enter the evening; with You we live and with You we die, and to You is the resurrection.
Leaving the home
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ تَوَكَّلْتُ عَلَى ٱللَّهِ، لَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِٱللَّهِ
In the name of Allah, I place my trust in Allah; there is no might nor power except with Allah.
After wudu
أَشْهَدُ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ
I bear witness that there is no god but Allah alone, with no partner, and I bear witness that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger.
Before sleeping
بِسْمِكَ ٱللَّهُمَّ أَمُوتُ وَأَحْيَا
In Your name, O Allah, I die and I live.
قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ … وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ … وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ
Say: He is Allah, the One … Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak … Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, and blow over the hands, then wipe the body.
أَسْتَغْفِرُ ٱللَّهَ أَسْتَغْفِرُ ٱللَّهَ أَسْتَغْفِرُ ٱللَّهَ، ٱللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ ٱلسَّلَامُ وَمِنْكَ ٱلسَّلَامُ، تَبَارَكْتَ يَا ذَا ٱلْجَلَالِ وَٱلْإِكْرَامِ
I seek Allah's forgiveness (3 times). O Allah, You are Peace and from You is peace; blessed are You, O Owner of Majesty and Honour.
Entering the mosque
ٱللَّهُمَّ ٱفْتَحْ لِي أَبْوَابَ رَحْمَتِكَ
O Allah, open for me the doors of Your mercy.
Before eating
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ
In the name of Allah.
After eating
ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ ٱلَّذِي أَطْعَمَنَا وَسَقَانَا وَجَعَلَنَا مُسْلِمِينَ
Praise be to Allah who fed us and gave us drink and made us Muslims.
When travelling
سُبْحَانَ ٱلَّذِي سَخَّرَ لَنَا هَٰذَا وَمَا كُنَّا لَهُ مُقْرِنِينَ، وَإِنَّا إِلَىٰ رَبِّنَا لَمُنْقَلِبُونَ
Glory be to Him who subjected this to us, though we were not able to do it ourselves; and surely to our Lord we will return.
Entering the home
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ وَلَجْنَا، وَبِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ خَرَجْنَا، وَعَلَى ٱللَّهِ رَبِّنَا تَوَكَّلْنَا
In the name of Allah we enter, and in the name of Allah we leave, and upon Allah our Lord we place our trust.
Entering the toilet
ٱللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ ٱلْخُبُثِ وَٱلْخَبَائِثِ
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from male and female unclean spirits.
Protection from harm
بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلَّذِي لَا يَضُرُّ مَعَ ٱسْمِهِ شَيْءٌ فِي ٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَا فِي ٱلسَّمَاءِ وَهُوَ ٱلسَّمِيعُ ٱلْعَلِيمُ
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
رَبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ هَمَزَاتِ ٱلشَّيَاطِينِ وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَنْ يَحْضُرُونِ
My Lord, I seek refuge in You from the whisperings of the devils, and I seek refuge in You, my Lord, lest they be present with me.
ٱللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ، خَلَقْتَنِي وَأَنَا عَبْدُكَ، وَأَنَا عَلَىٰ عَهْدِكَ وَوَعْدِكَ مَا ٱسْتَطَعْتُ…
O Allah, You are my Lord; there is no god but You. You created me and I am Your servant, and I abide by Your covenant and promise as best I can. I seek refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favour upon me, and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins but You.
رَبَّنَا ظَلَمْنَا أَنْفُسَنَا وَإِنْ لَمْ تَغْفِرْ لَنَا وَتَرْحَمْنَا لَنَكُونَنَّ مِنَ ٱلْخَاسِرِينَ
Our Lord, we have wronged ourselves; if You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will surely be among the losers.
رَبِّ أَوْزِعْنِي أَنْ أَشْكُرَ نِعْمَتَكَ ٱلَّتِي أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيَّ وَعَلَىٰ وَالِدَيَّ وَأَنْ أَعْمَلَ صَالِحًا تَرْضَاهُ وَأَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي إِنِّي تُبْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَإِنِّي مِنَ ٱلْمُسْلِمِينَ
My Lord, enable me to be grateful for the favour You have bestowed upon me and upon my parents, and to do righteous deeds that please You; and grant me righteousness in my offspring. Indeed, I have turned to You in repentance, and I am of the Muslims.
For a righteous family
رَبَّنَا هَبْ لَنَا مِنْ أَزْوَاجِنَا وَذُرِّيَّاتِنَا قُرَّةَ أَعْيُنٍ وَٱجْعَلْنَا لِلْمُتَّقِينَ إِمَامًا
Our Lord, grant us from our spouses and our offspring comfort to our eyes, and make us leaders for the righteous.
For parents
رَبِّ ٱرْحَمْهُمَا كَمَا رَبَّيَانِي صَغِيرًا
My Lord, have mercy upon them as they raised me when I was small.
ٱللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنَ ٱلْهَمِّ وَٱلْحَزَنِ، وَٱلْعَجْزِ وَٱلْكَسَلِ، وَٱلْبُخْلِ وَٱلْجُبْنِ، وَضَلَعِ ٱلدَّيْنِ وَغَلَبَةِ ٱلرِّجَالِ
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, from weakness and laziness, from stinginess and cowardice, and from the burden of debt and from being overpowered by men.
لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ ٱلْعَظِيمُ ٱلْحَلِيمُ، لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْعَظِيمِ، لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا ٱللَّهُ رَبُّ ٱلسَّمَاوَاتِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْأَرْضِ وَرَبُّ ٱلْعَرْشِ ٱلْكَرِيمِ
There is no god but Allah, the Magnificent, the Forbearing; there is no god but Allah, Lord of the Mighty Throne; there is no god but Allah, Lord of the heavens, Lord of the earth, and Lord of the Noble Throne.
حَسْبُنَا ٱللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ ٱلْوَكِيلُ
Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.
ٱللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا، وَرِزْقًا طَيِّبًا، وَعَمَلًا مُتَقَبَّلًا
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge, wholesome provision, and accepted deeds.
ٱللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَٱلتُّقَىٰ وَٱلْعَفَافَ وَٱلْغِنَىٰ
O Allah, I ask You for guidance, piety, chastity, and sufficiency.
ٱللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْتَخِيرُكَ بِعِلْمِكَ، وَأَسْتَقْدِرُكَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ، وَأَسْأَلُكَ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ ٱلْعَظِيمِ، فَإِنَّكَ تَقْدِرُ وَلَا أَقْدِرُ، وَتَعْلَمُ وَلَا أَعْلَمُ، وَأَنْتَ عَلَّامُ ٱلْغُيُوبِ…
O Allah, I seek Your guidance through Your knowledge, and I seek Your power through Your power, and I ask You from Your immense bounty — for You are able and I am not, You know and I do not, and You are the Knower of the unseen…
For healing
ٱللَّهُمَّ رَبَّ ٱلنَّاسِ، أَذْهِبِ ٱلْبَأْسَ، ٱشْفِ أَنْتَ ٱلشَّافِي، لَا شِفَاءَ إِلَّا شِفَاؤُكَ، شِفَاءً لَا يُغَادِرُ سَقَمًا
O Allah, Lord of mankind, remove the affliction and heal — You are the Healer; there is no healing but Your healing, a healing that leaves no illness.
Increase in knowledge
رَبِّ زِدْنِي عِلْمًا
My Lord, increase me in knowledge.
Ease and expansion
رَبِّ ٱشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي
My Lord, expand for me my breast and make my task easy for me.
In time of need
رَبِّ إِنِّي لِمَا أَنْزَلْتَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ خَيْرٍ فَقِيرٌ
My Lord, indeed I am in need of whatever good You send down to me.
Steadfastness of heart
رَبَّنَا لَا تُزِغْ قُلُوبَنَا بَعْدَ إِذْ هَدَيْتَنَا وَهَبْ لَنَا مِنْ لَدُنْكَ رَحْمَةً إِنَّكَ أَنْتَ ٱلْوَهَّابُ
Our Lord, let not our hearts deviate after You have guided us, and grant us mercy from Yourself; indeed, You are the Bestower.
رَبَّنَا آتِنَا فِي ٱلدُّنْيَا حَسَنَةً وَفِي ٱلْآخِرَةِ حَسَنَةً وَقِنَا عَذَابَ ٱلنَّارِ
Our Lord, give us good in this world and good in the Hereafter, and protect us from the punishment of the Fire.
رَبَّنَا أَفْرِغْ عَلَيْنَا صَبْرًا وَثَبِّتْ أَقْدَامَنَا
Our Lord, pour upon us patience and make firm our feet.
ٱللَّهُمَّ إِنَّكَ عَفُوٌّ تُحِبُّ ٱلْعَفْوَ فَاعْفُ عَنِّي
O Allah, You are Pardoning and You love to pardon, so pardon me.
