Protection before sleeping
قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ … وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ … وَقُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ
Qul Huwallahu Ahad … Qul a'udhu bi-Rabbil-falaq … Qul a'udhu bi-Rabbinnas
Say: He is Allah, the One … Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of the daybreak … Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, and blow over the hands, then wipe the body.
What this supplication is
The three protection surahs — al-Ikhlas, al-Falaq and an-Nas — recited, cupped in the palms and wiped over the body, following the recorded practice of the Prophet (peace be upon him) before sleep. A nightly shield for the Muslim household.
When to recite it
Before sleeping, three times, blowing into cupped hands and wiping the body.
