Ease and expansion
رَبِّ ٱشْرَحْ لِي صَدْرِي وَيَسِّرْ لِي أَمْرِي
Rabbishrah li sadri wa yassir li amri
My Lord, expand for me my breast and make my task easy for me.
What this supplication is
Musa's (peace be upon him) prayer before the hardest task of his life — facing Pharaoh — asking for an expanded breast and an eased affair. For every task that feels too large, it is the recorded Qur'anic request for capacity.
When to recite it
Before difficult tasks, speeches, exams or challenging conversations.
