The family as a place of worship
1Kindness is sacred
'And your Lord has decreed that you worship none but Him, and to parents, good treatment' (Qur'an 17:23). Placing good treatment of parents directly beside worship signals how central family duty is.
2Mercy between spouses
'And among His signs is that He created for you spouses from among yourselves that you may find tranquility in them, and He placed between you affection and mercy' (Qur'an 30:21). The stated purpose of marriage is tranquility, affection and mercy — worthy daily goals.
3Prayers for the family
Duas like 'Rabbana hab lana min azwajina wa dhurriyyatina qurrata a'yun' (Qur'an 25:74) teach families to pray for one another. Praying together, even briefly, turns routine homes into places of remembrance.
